Cookie policy

Cookies and browser storage keep essential features working and remember your choices. Optional analytics is off until you explicitly accept it. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using MineRoster.

Essential sign-in and security

• MineRoster owner-session cookies use the mineroster-owner prefix, with a secure prefix where applicable. Owner sessions expire after seven days.
• Short-lived Discord OAuth state cookies protect the sign-in return flow. They are not advertising cookies.
• Cloudflare may use security cookies when a protection feature requires them. These are distinct from optional audience analytics. Turnstile is used on protected voting actions.

Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in or security checks from working. Their exact presence depends on the features you use; we do not claim that every visitor receives every security cookie.

Your stored choice

The browser’s local storage key mineroster-analytics-consent-v1 records only your analytics choice, its version and the time it was made. It expires after 180 days. It is not sent to an advertising service. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice may not persist.

Google Analytics - optional

After acceptance, Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish visits and sessions. This integration configures a 180-day cookie lifetime. Google’s server-side retention is a separate property setting, not the cookie lifetime.

We use basic consent gating: before acceptance the Google script is not loaded. We do not use Google Ads tracking or advertising personalization. Public page-view URLs omit query strings and fragments; authentication, account, admin and voting pages are not measured as page views.

Change or withdraw

Select Cookie settings in the bottom privacy navigation, then choose Essential only to withdraw. This disables further analytics, removes the site’s accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page if the Google script was loaded. Previously collected information is not automatically erased by changing a cookie choice.

You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser. Doing so removes the saved choice, and MineRoster will ask again without enabling analytics automatically.

Owner traffic statistics - optional

Only after analytics consent, MineRoster counts server profile views, successful IP copies and vote page opens. No form contents, email, Minecraft name or account identifier is sent. Each network counts at most once per event type, server and UTC day. Daily totals are retained for up to 90 UTC days and available only to the current server owner. Duplicate detection uses a network HMAC key scoped to each day and server, rather than a raw IP; keys are removed after the following UTC day through regular maintenance. These are not unique people. Accepted votes are accounted for separately; rejecting analytics does not prevent voting.
